   Transport, Energy & Climate

 

The Transport, Energy and Climate Committee takes the lead responsibility for identifying, monitoring, evaluating and influencing Turkish policies in the area of transport, energy and climate. It takes appropriate measures at the central and local level to develop and maintain contacts with key Turkish decision-makers

Patron members

TABA/AmCham Turkey’s Committees are intrinsic to the Chamber’s mission of promoting a healthy business environment for member companies operating in Turkey. 

We provide a forum for business leaders with similar interests to network, share best practices and discuss ideas and issues relevant to the particular committee. Each committee is led by volunteer leadership teams that strive to identify and evaluate the key issues affecting their businesses, with planned programs and activities including monthly meetings, roundtables, mixers, conferences and publications such reports, surveys and indexes.

     Agriculture & Food

 

The Agriculture & Food Committee provides opportunities for networking, internal information activities, and consultations and cooperation with industry associations, governments and international organizations to help improve health and safety in the agriculture & food industry sector in Turkey. A key area of interest for the Committee is to cooperate with other stakeholders in efforts that will help Turkey’s internationalization and harmonization with the various regional and global systems (WTO SPS, Codex Alimentarius) for food health and safety, to the benefit of Turkish farmers, agricultural companies and consumers.

Corporate Social Responsibility

 

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee provides insight on how the CSR programs can be implemented, such as how to effectively monitor and track such efforts and gauge whether they contribute in a meaningful way to brand recognition, awareness and creating a positive impression

       

Competition Policy

 

The Competition Policy Committee aims to provide constructive input to the Turkish institutions to ensure the development of efficient and balanced competition policies that reflect the needs of both business and consumers. By ensuring a level playing field for business competition policy is essential to the success of the single market.

 

 Customs and Trade Facilitation

 

The Customs and Trade Facilitation Committee supports changes to legislation, aiming at providing standard simplified customs procedures and systems to be implemented. Such procedures and systems are beneficial to both customs and trade, as they facilitate the movement of goods, encourage compliance with customs rules and enable more effective use of both business and customs resources

 

    Digital Economy

 

The Digital Economy Committee looks at the benefits of the new economy in the form of competitiveness, growth, creation of jobs and modern governance systems. The information society is a central factor influencing modern development; a major employer in Turkey giving Turkey significant social, cultural and economic opportunities. The committee monitors a variety of industry sectors, not just telecom network operators, internet service providers, manufacturers and content providers.

 

 

 Employment & Social Affairs

 

The Employment and Social Affairs Committee identifies, monitors, evaluates and influences Turkish policies in the area of employment, health and safety at work, gender equality among others.

 

 

   Financial Services

 

The Financial Services Committee aims to provide constructive input to the ongoing process of financial services regulatory reform.

 

 

       Healthcare

 

The Healthcare Committee identifies, addresses and provides representation at the governmental level on issues which have a healthcare perspective. It seeks to influence key Turkish decision-makers to ensure that legislation is created and implemented in a manner that is beneficial to the Turkish public.

 

       Legal Services

 

The Legal Services Committee works with the Turkish institutions to create a strong, transparent, cost-effective legal system in Turkey as these issues often lie at the heart of any debate concerning innovation and competitiveness in a global economy.

   Security & Defence

 

The Security and Defence Committee gathers companies that are both producers and users in the field of security and defence. The Committee contributes to the security and defence debate in Turkey and works to promote cooperation on research, interoperability and common technical standards across the Atlantic as well as the adoption of the best available technologies, irrespective of their origins.

  Trade & External relations

 

The mission of the Trade and External Affairs Committee is to identify, monitor and shape relevant trade issues, policies and legislative initiatives taken at the Turkish and international level.
